The Ross Mortgage Company Mission:

Be a premier mortgage lender in New England and throughout the east coast by leveraging our experience, process, and technology to deliver our borrower’s the best possible lending experience.

Our Story

Founded in 2001, Ross Mortgage Company Inc. has spent the past twenty years cementing itself as a leading independent mortgage lender. What began with humble beginnings in a small office on a pair of folding tables has grown into something President Robert J. Kalagher never imagined when he and his father were brainstorming what to name the company. The pair eventually landed on Ross, a name that pays homage to Kalagher’s grandmother who instilled the value of doing things the right way. It’s that value that has allowed Ross Mortgage Company to withstand the highs and lows of the mortgage industry over the past two decades. From the housing collapse of 2008 to the refinance boom of 2020, Kalagher’s company provides its borrowers with a sense of stability and level of trust few mortgage companies can.

For Robert and the rest of the dedicated individuals who make up the now fifty person plus team at Ross Mortgage Company, it’s always been more than mortgages. It’s about the excitement in the voice of a first time home buyer who can’t wait to plant roots, the look of relief from a pair of grandparents who unlock the ability to refinance their life long home rather than sell it, and the beaming smiles on the faces of a couple who’s years of hard work finally resulted in the vacation home of their dreams.

We understand a mortgage isn’t something you hold, not something you can touch, but rather a vehicle driving change and new life into communities. In essence it’s what inspires Ross Mortgage Company to be such an active member of the community – the belief that profit is only as valuable as what you do with it. For Robert and his team that means supporting organizations like the New England Center for Children, a world class institution improving the lives of those with autism. Forging relationships that run deeper than a dollar has sparked partnerships that motivate our team every day.

Today, Robert and the team at Ross Mortgage Company are focused on propelling the company to a new level of success. Doubling down on our commitment to doing things the right way means you won’t find us pushing borrowers in one direction or another. Rather we believe in educating and empowering those borrowers to make the best possible financial decisions for themselves. At the end of the day, it’s on all of us to build a diverse, tight knit community.
